The Maldivian Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation says they have revoked the license of a driver that sped through a pedestrian crossing, hitting a 47-year-old woman who was using it.
The taxi driver sped over the crossing in front of the Senahiya military clinic in Henveiru of capital city Malé, critically injuring the woman even now is in intensive care.
The Transport Ministry says the driver’s license has been revoked, and that he cannot apply for a new one for two years.
The driver’s permit to operate taxi services has also been revoked, the ministry says.
The incident occurred on February 14th.
