Earlier on Thursday, Nasheed met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
During the meeting in New Delhi, they discussed areas of mutual concern such as climate change and extremism.
In a tweet, Nasheed said they also discussed Maldives falling into a ‘debt trap’ because of the ‘reckless borrowing’ of previous administration.
