Council members of Huraa island in Kaafu atoll have on Monday shared their concerns regarding the island's development, with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Concerns were shared during a meeting held at the President’s Office on Monday afternoon.
The members of Huraa council had shared their concerns regarding obstacles surfacing in the development of the island.
They had also shared details of their efforts as well as the requirements for development.
As such, the lack of space in the island council and school premises and electricity issues are a major concern.
Requesting for a quick solution for these issues, council members also requested for the work to reclaim land in the island to be accelerated.
Council members also requested for a solution to the harbor area in the island, asking the President to accelerate work on the third phase of its development.
President Solih had assured the members that he will arrange discussions with ministries after which a decision on providing a solution for said issues will be reached.
Further, President Solih had assured that they will be beginning the work allocated in the state budget this year, in the near future.
