Fishing vessel runs aground near resort in Kaafu atoll
The vessel had run aground a reef about 4.5 miles to the north of the island resort

The vessel has now been re-floated
A fishing vessel has run aground near the Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives island resort in Kaafu atoll.
The incident was reported at around 22:10 on Friday and the Maldives National Defence Force managed to refloat it at about 03:25 on Saturday.
The vessel had run aground a reef about 4.5 miles to the north of the island resort with 13 people onboard.
None of the people onboard the ‘Mithura 5’ vessel were injured.
