Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid is set to attend the 29th Governing Council Meeting of Community of Democracies (CoD) to be held in London.
The Maldives Minister arrived in London, United Kingdom on Saturday night.
The Maldives Embassy in UK on Saturday revealed that he will be meeting with officials of the UK government, MPs from the UK House of Commons as well as the Commonwealth Secretary General during his visit.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN is accompanying FM Shahid during these trips.

Prior to his UK visit, FM Shahid had met with UN SG António Guterres, Assistant SG Miroslav Jenča and several others in New York.
The minister revealed via twitter that he had several productive meetings in the United States. As such, he met with Foreign Ministers and PRs as well.
FM Shahid held “good discussions” with UN SG Guterres and the other officials at the UN.
“I hope that this is the beginning of an elevated level of engagements of the Maldives at the UN” wrote the minister.
Senior officials at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations joined FM Shahid at the meetings.
