A good education will be the cornerstone from which employment opportunities are developed, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
President Solih said this while addressing Maldivians living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of his ongoing state visit there.
The president highlighted that several Maldivians live in the UAE and other gulf states and are employed there, and encouraged individuals seeking employment out of the Maldives to ‘pursue quality education and necessary training’.
President Solih also said that his government aims to facilitate this as well, by maintaining friendly relations with other countries; at Monday’s event, Solih highlighted the visa waiver agreement the Maldives has with the UAE.
On Monday, President Solih participated in the ‘Zayed Sustainability Awards’ and oversaw the signing of an agreement to create a joint commission for cooperation between Maldives and the UAE.
President Solih will be participating in the inauguration of the ‘Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week’ and is accompanied by a high-level delegation which includes Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid.
