Newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, Keiko Yanai has on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid.
Before calling on the Minister, Ambassador Yanai had on Thursday morning called on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President’s Office where she presented him with her Letter of Credence.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed via twitter that Minister Shahid congratulated Ambassador Yanai on her appointment.
They further discussed areas for cooperation between Maldives and Japan.
Ambassador Yanai had reassured President Solih that she is determined to fulfill her mission by further strengthening already strong relations between Maldives and Japan.

The meeting was joined by Minister of State at the Ministry, Ahmed Khaleel as well as Assistant Director Zeena Mohamed Didi.
