MPs blaring air horns have disrupted the parliament sitting on Saturday.
The last sitting of the last session of the year that began at 2pm was halted due to the interference.
Parliamentarians of opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) had blared air horns inside and outside the parliament chamber.
Central Henveiru MP Ali Azim shared a video on Twitter showing parliamentarians using their air horns near the chamber door as the sitting proceeded, which is against regulations.

It is not known when the sitting will begin again.
While this was supposed to be the last sitting of the year, MPs were to take the final vote on empowering two inquiry commissions established by incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to probe corruption and unresolved murders.
This comes at a time former President Abdulla Yameen has been summoned to the police headquarters to be questioned over allegations of illegal financial transactions, at the same time as the sitting began.
Supporters of PPM and Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) have taken to the streets in Male’ and police officers are active at the gathering to keep them separate.
