Speaker to file complaint to disciplinary committee over MPs 'tardiness'

Speaker of parliament Qasim Ibrahim has said that he will file a complaint to the disciplinary committee over MPs who are late to the sittings.
Wednesday’s sitting was scheduled for 9:00am but began 30 minutes later due to lack of quorum.
Speaker Qasim said he will request the committee to discipline MPs who are late to the sittings without giving a valid excuse.
Responding to this, Thulusdhoo MP Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim noted that the quorum is always met with the same MPs and said that it is the responsibility of every parliamentarian to attend the sittings on time, since they are responsible to the citizens.
The 14th sitting of the third session of the year is concerned with passing the budget and hearing new bills.
