Elections Commission chief Ahmed Shareef has said that their officials are still being urged to claim that there were issues in the last presidential election.
In a tweet on Friday, Shareef said that some are still ‘begging’ the officials to make false claims regarding the election, but did not disclose who they were.
In the tweet, he also said that the commission has nothing to do with Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s election win or President Abdulla Yameen’s loss

While President Yameen initially conceded defeat to Solih, he later began claiming that he and his party had been receiving ‘thousands of complaints’ regarding issues in the voting process.
Senior members of his party then began holding protests, accusing the Elections Commission of rigging the election, but stopped after the top court declared that there are no legal grounds to annul September's presidential election.
