After almost a month of absence, First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim has returned to Muliaage Palace, the official residence of the president.

The First Lady recently returned from a trip to Saudi Arabia on Thursday and RaajjeMV understands that she had gone to Muliaage at 2pm the same day and left at 8pm.

While she had entered the palace with her close associates, the reason for her visit is not yet known. It is also noteworthy that regulations require individuals to register themselves before entering Muliaage during unofficial hours.

The First Lady had used Muliaage as her team’s campaign headquarters during the recent presidential election. After her husband President Abdulla Yameen’s loss, a large number of boxes were seen being taken by pickup trucks from the palace to the President’s home. Afterwards, neither the First lady nor her associates had entered the Muliaage palace.

Responding to claims that incriminating items were taken from Muliaage to be hidden away, President’s Office spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali said that the items were personal belongings of the President and were taken away from Muliaage to make way for the new administration.
