President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has joined the alumni event hosted by the Maldives public broadcaster, Television Maldives (TVM) on Saturday night.

Solih, whose first employment was at TVM, held posts such as producer at the channel before his political career.

TVM held the alumni event specially to celebrate Solih’s election victory, on Saturday night at Maagiri Hotel. The banner at the entrance read “Producer to President”.

RaajjeMV understands that the celebrations were joined by former Information Minister and MP for South-Kulhudhuffushi Mohamed Nasheed, MP for Mathiveri constituency, Hussain Mohamed and former Planning Minister Hamdhoon Hameed. Moreover, former employees at senior posts, management, journalists as well as employees from other departments had joined in the celebrations.

While the event was organized by the alumni of the channel, Solih is also a fellow member of the alumni.
