Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, His Excellency Jean-Marin Schuh has paid a courtesy call on President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday evening.

Solih’s office revealed that the French Ambassador had during the call, congratulated Solih for his momentous win in the Presidential Election held on the 23rd of September, expressing his hope to work with him to further enhance the existing close ties between Maldives and France, as well as to boost tourist arrivals from France to the small island state with a dominant economy in tourism.

Moreover, Ambassador Schuh assured Solih that cooperation and assistance will be provided in the growing issue of global warming’s impact on the environment.

It is notable that many foreign leaders and diplomats are congratulating Solih for winning his bid for Presidency, via telephone calls as well as on social media. Many state employees and high-ranking officials at state-run institutions are also observed calling on the President-elect.
