MATATO Travel Awards Guesthouse edition to be hosted at end of month
The event is to be held in Phase II of Hulhumale' on the 31st of August
MATATO Guest House Awards 2017
Guesthouse Edition of the annual Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) Travel Awards is to kick off on the 31st of August, coming Friday.
The event is to be held in Phase II of Hulhumale' on Friday night.
While this year’s Guesthouse edition comprises of 15 categories, 111 nominations have been registered and about 60 Guesthouses are up for the awards.
MATATO’s previous Guesthouse edition of the Travel Awards was held in October 2017 at Arena Beach in Maafushi island of Male’ atoll with awards being conferred to Guesthouses under 15 categories.
As such, Arena Beach had won awards under the categories: Leading Guesthouse Award, Most Supportive Guesthouse Award and Leading Guesthouse Brand Award, while Kani Hotels had won awards under the categories Most Supportive Guesthouse Award and Leading Guesthouse Brand Award.
Winners of the 15 categories under MATATO Travel Awards Guesthouse edition 2017 were selected with 60% SMS voting and 40% rating from Trip Advisor.
MATATO hosts the Guesthouse Edition before the annual Travel Awards each year. According to MATATO, these awards are conferred to leading Guesthouses across the nation in order to recognize the success of this sector, being one of the fastest growing sectors in the country.
