Presidential candidates are to be assigned their candidate numbers on Saturday.

Elections Commission (EC) on Wednesday stated that they will hold a lottery on Saturday to assign the numbers of the candidates who qualified for the presidential election.

The event will be held at 10:30 am at the election center in the old Jamaluddin School building’s training hall.

The only two candidates running in the election are President Abdulla Yameen on the ruling party’s ticket and Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the candidate for the opposition coalition parties.

President Yameen’s running mate is Dr. Mohamed Shaheem, while Solih’s running mate is Faisal Naseem.

EC has rejected Hussain Naseer’s application to run as an independent.
