A fire broke out at a water villa in Niyama Resort early Monday morning.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the fire incident occurred at around 5:30 am, adding that officers of its Central Area Kuda Huvadhoo Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The fire was extinguished at 7am.
MNDF said that a fire had broken out at one of the water villas in the resort and that all three rooms in the villa were destroyed beyond use.
However, there were no injuries.
Both MNDF Fire and Rescue and Maldives Police Service are investigating the cause of the fire.
