Football star Ali ‘Dhagandey’ Ashfaq has signed onto TC Sports Club.
TC had confirmed the news of Ashfaq signing onto the team through their official Facebook page although they are yet to reveal his jersey number.
Ashfaq, one of the most famous footballers ever in Maldives history, had been a free agent when his transfer had taken place within the mid-season transfer window. As such, the agreement signed between the footballer and the club he had been playing for since last season, New Radiant Sports Club (NRSC) was cancelled by the Football Association of the Maldives (FAM).
Ashfaq had taken to twitter writing that this was “the beginning of a new chapter”.

The FAM had decided to annul the agreement between Ashfaq and NRSC following a complaint filed by him regarding payment issues. The footballer had revealed that while he had signed onto NRSC for MVR 3 million, they had only given him 10% of his pay.
While this is the fifth local team Ashfaq has joined thus far, it is believed that TC’s game will improve with the brilliant addition to their team.
Ashfaq had previously played for Club Valencia, VB Sports Club, Maziya Sports and Recreation, NRSC as well as Malaysian football club Persatuan Bolasepak Polis Di-Raja Malaysia (PDRM FA).
While Ashfaq has started a new beginning in his football career, he had joined NRSC for the third time during Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League last season.
The footballer had shown exceptional performance in the wins for NRSC in last season’s Premier League, FA Cup, President’s Cup as well as the Male’ League held this year.
