ACC concludes probe into ex-VP Adeeb’s case involving Villa
The ACC reached conclusion in its investigation into allegations of corruption this week
The former vice president had requested that he be summoned at the commission to provide a statement
RaajjeMV understands that the ACC has forwarded the case for prosecution

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded its investigation into a case implicating former vice president Ahmed Adeeb, without allowing him to provide his defence.

The ACC reached conclusion in its investigation into allegations of corruption this week while the former vice president had requested that he be summoned at the commission to provide a statement.

The ACC has concluded that a number of agreements signed between the state and private company Villa Group for the islands Elaa in Thaa atoll, Gazeera in Gaafu Dhaalu, Maanenfushi in Raa Atoll, Bolidhiffaru in Kaafu atoll and Vaaveddhi in Kaafu atoll had been given to the company unlawfully.

The ACC had also concluded that the agreement for said islands violate Public Finances Act and Tourism Act, as well as procedures established under these laws. The ACC had also said that the agreements were void ab initio.

RaajjeMV understands that the ACC has forwarded the case for prosecution.
