The Islamic Ministry has declared Friday as the beginning of Eid al-Fitr.

The Ministry made the decision after holding a meeting to observe the moon.

In the subsequent press statement, Islamic Minister Dr. Ziyad Bagir said that their calculations confirm that the moon will not emerge after the sunset on the 29th day of Ramadan, Wednesday.

Based on these predictions, the Ministry has declared Thursday as the 30th day of Ramadan and Friday as the beginning of Eid.
