President Yameen incapable of putting forth a manifesto: MP Nizar
Nizar said that President Yameen has been impeded by the ‘stress of tyrannical rule’
The parliamentarian further spoke in support of the Joint Opposition
Nizar also said that the incumbent president’s last manifesto has yet remained unfulfilled

Incumbent President Abdulla Yameen ‘and his cronies’ will not be able to put forth a substantive manifesto for the upcoming presidential elections, says South-Hithadhoo constituency MP Ali Nizar.

Speaking at a talk show on local station RaajjeTV, Nizar said that President Yameen has been impeded by the ‘stress of tyrannical rule’, that has turned him weary, and his campaign team shows signs of fatigue.

“President Yameen is too tired and bogged down to promise citizens anything. His camp already shows signs of fatigue. There is no way they are coming up with a proper manifesto” Nizar said.

The parliamentarian further spoke in support of the Joint Opposition, a coalition of President Yameen’s opponents, and their ongoing campaign.

“[former] President Nasheed campaigns with energy and conviction, that is how it should be done” Nizar said, speaking on RaajjeTV’s ‘Fala Surukhee’ program.

Nizar’s comments come while President Yameen’s campaign office this week said that the ruling faction of the Progressive Party of Maldives, which has another faction aligned against the government, will stall their manifesto to be ‘a surprise’.

Nizar also said that the incumbent president’s last manifesto has yet remained unfulfilled and that the only surprise would be if President Yameen releases one at all.
