The Criminal Court has scheduled hearings on terror allegations against Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and former commissioner of police Ahmed Areef.
They are both charged with using the authority of their positions to influence the conduct of police officers and ‘conspiring to overthrow a legally elected and formed government’.
Chief Justice Saeed’s hearing has been set for 01:00pm and the former commissioner of police’s hearing is to be held at 3:00pm.
The Supreme Court adjudicator is also facing other allegations and has been thus far been found guilty of influencing the conduct of a public official and interfering with state operations and government functions.
