Criminal Court schedules hearing for MP Faris' bribery case for Monday as well

The Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing over the prosecution’s bribery case against him, for Monday as well.

The hearing is scheduled for 02:30 PM, and the judge presiding over the case is to hear testimonies from the prosecution’s witnesses against the parliamentarian.

Sunday’s hearing saw the presentation of witnesses from both Faris and the prosecution. The prosecution has put forth 10 witnesses, while the lawmaker has put forth 73 witnesses in his defence.

The case was recently switched to another section of the Criminal Court, effectively changing the judge presiding over the case.

The case was changed from Section-K of the court to Section-E, changing switching adjudicators from Judge Adam Areef to the newly-appointed Judge Ahmed Hailam.

This change was brought at the behest of the parliamentarian himself, Judge Hailam has said.
