Adhaalath Party (AP)'s deputy leader Ali Zahir has called on the police and military to arrest President Abdulla Yameen.
In a tweet, Zahir claims that the security forces must not allow the country to be brought under military rule.
Since the State of Emergency was declared, a court order is not needed to arrest 'desperate' President Yameen, his tweet reads.
Raajeyga military verikameh hingan @MNDF_Official adhi @PoliceMv furusathu nudhevva, SoE ge dhashun court amurehves beynun nuvaane avahah mi desperate raees hifa hayyrukoh Qanooni verikan iyaadha kurumahttaka masaikai kohdhevva. Shiyam ge order ah Majlis & SC hisoaru nukuravva.

Ali Zahir further called to release supreme court from the military's lockdown. Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam had ordered the lockdown of the parliament and supreme court, and ever since the declaration of the SoE, the judiciary has been under military control.
While Ali Zahir has appealed for the arrest of the President, Jumhoree Party (JP) leader Gasim Ibrahim has urged the citizens to take to the streets for the sake of the nation, against the tyrannical rule of President Yameen.
