Maldives gains five spots in FIFA rankings

India came in first in region at 102nd spot
 
Maldives now on 150th spot

Maldives has gained five spots in the first rankings for this year issued by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Maldives is now in the 150th spot, with India once again claiming the top spot in the region at 102nd spot. Rivals Pakistan is the lowest ranked in the region at the 201st spot. Afghanistan is at 148th position, while Nepal is at 165th and Bhutan is at 188th rank. Bangladesh is ranked 197th, while Sri Lanka placed 200th on the rankings.

As usual, Germany ranked first, followed by Brazil and Portugal at second and third positions. Argentina ranked fourth, followed by Belgium at fifth and Spain at sixth position. Switzerland ranked eighth, followed by France. Chile ranked 10th on global rankings.

FIFA’s next rankings will be issued on February 15th.
