Landing craft destroyed 5,000 sq feet off of Kendhoo island's reef, says council

The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has begun investigating the damage incurred by Kendhoo island’s reef in Baa Atoll after a landing craft collided into it.
Director General of EPA, Ibrahim Naeem, said that the full scope of damages can only be ascertained after their investigation is complete.
Naeem had not revealed any further information on the matter. The landing craft collided into the reef as it attempted to board an excavator on September 21st.
Kendhoo’s local government council earlier reported that the landing craft’s accident destroyed over 5,000 square feet.
The council said that the operation to free the landing craft after the collision had only further damaged the reef.
The craft's operator will be penalized if the EPA finds that the collision occured at its negligence.
