A fire broke out in a house in the Henveiru ward of the capital Malé City on Saturday night
The incident was reported around 8:55 pm and the fire was under control by 9:15 pm
There were no injuries

A fire broke out in a house in the Henveiru ward of the capital Malé City on Saturday night.

Media officer at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the incident occurred at Heneviru Fahaage, and that it was reported at around 8:55 pm.

Azim said that the fire broke out in an apartment on the third floor, and that it was caused by an electrical short circuit.

He added that firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the fire was extinguished by 9:15 pm.

No one was injured in the incident.

While it is unclear on how many people resided in the apartment, Azim said that the fire had destroyed everything inside the apartment "beyond use".
