People's National Front (PNF) Secretary General Mohamed Maleeh Jamal has stated that those who deliberately violate the law will eventually face justice, asserting that President Muizzu will also be held accountable in due course.
Speaking at an emergency rally titled "Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinnah," Maleeh Jamal characterized the development agreement between the government and Eagle Hills company for Fushidhiggaru Lagoon as a massive act of corruption. Maleeh stated that while President Muizzu and his administration continue to conceal the details of the agreement to grant 500 hectares of land from Ras Male' to the UAE-based Eagle Hills, the day they will face investigation for this matter is fast approaching.
When individuals act in blatant violation of the law, they will eventually be held accountable. A government that fails to investigate corruption will no longer be tolerated in the Maldives. Regardless of who assumes power, this massive embezzlement involving Muizzu must be investigated.Mohamed Maleeh Jamal
Maleeh stated that raising one's voice against this issue is a vital responsibility for everyone today. He argued that granting land reclaimed with public tax money to foreigners free of charge poses a significant threat to Maldivian sovereignty. Furthermore, Maleeh warned that as these foreign nationals settle in the Maldives, it will eventually lead to a shortage of land available for providing housing and apartments to Maldivian citizens.
Maleeh reiterated that leasing a vast area of land from Ras Male' to a foreign entity for a long duration—without any acquisition cost being paid to the state treasury—constitutes a betrayal of public funds, especially since the reclamation of Fushidhiggaru Lagoon was financed by taxpayers' money.
Maleeh stated that it is now imperative to stand up in defense of Islam, the Maldivian nation, its sovereignty, the people, and the Constitution. He further called upon citizens of all ages from across the country—stretching from Thuraakunu in the north to Addu and Fuvahmulah in the south—to gather in Male' and raise their voices in protest against the current situation.
