MDP National Council member Ahmed Saleem (Maaz Saleem) has stated that security forces must not remain idle while the Maldives' independence and sovereignty are being compromised. He further warned that following a change in government, top military and police officials will be brought before the courts and held accountable for their actions.
He made these remarks while speaking at an emergency rally held on Saturday night titled "Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinnah."
Speaking at the event, Maaz Saleem questioned the integrity and faith of the military and police services, stating that as the nation's independence and sovereignty are being eroded, their actions have led to widespread public concern and suspicion.
Maaz Saleem stated that the Maldives' independence and sovereignty are being compromised due to the influence of money and bribery.
As the independence and sovereignty of this nation slip away, I cannot help but question the integrity and faith of our police and military forces. Where is their conviction today? The independence and sovereignty of the Maldives are being eroded, sold off for money and lost to bribery. In the face of this, I ask: what has become of the faith of our security forces?
