He further emphasized that allowing foreign nationals of other faiths to settle in the country under the influence of powerful international corporations poses a significant threat to the nation's independence and its Islamic identity.

Legal expert and former Member of Parliament for the Kendhoo constituency, Ali Hussain, has claimed that the Maldivian Parliament and all government ministers are currently under the influence of Mohamed Alabbar, the head of Eagle Hills.
Speaking at an emergency rally titled "Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinnah," Ali Hussain stated that Article 262 of the Constitution mandates a public referendum if any changes are to be made that would diminish the territory of the Maldives.
Ali Hussain stated that any compromise to the Maldives' sovereignty, or the major shift currently looming over the region, involves granting residency to non-Muslims on Maldivian soil. He warned that once these individuals establish residency, it will eventually lead to them being granted a wide range of legal rights within the country.
What we are witnessing today is that our parliament remains directly under the control of Alabbar. Currently, every minister is under the influence of Eagle Hills. This is only the beginning of what is to come. Even before any formal agreements were signed, they had already effectively fallen under the sway of these major corporations. They are already subservient to Israeli or Zionist interests; that is their current reality.Ali Hussain
Ali Hussain stated that granting them residency status would bring about a significant transformation. He further noted that once followers of other faiths begin to settle in a specific region of the Maldives, a complete shift in the country's landscape will become evident.
Noting that examples of this are already emerging, Ali Hussain stated that these are significant issues that warrant serious concern. He added that the current situation provides a glimpse into what could become commonplace across the Maldives if this trajectory continues, which is why it is essential to oppose these developments.
