The Shaviyani Atoll Feevah Island Council has expressed deep concern over the lack of progress on the island's football field fencing project, which remains stalled a year after the contract was awarded.
Expressing concern over the situation in an interview with RaajjeTV, the Vice President of the Feevah Council, Ali Riza, stated that the Feevah football pitch was a project completed during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration. Riza further noted that although the installation of the fencing had commenced at the time, the work came to a standstill following the change in government.
Riza explained that due to the work stoppage, some of the iron structures and walls had deteriorated. He further noted that MTCC took over the project earlier this year.
However, Riza expressed concern, stating that no progress has been made on the work.
This project was commissioned following the assumption of office by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Under the scope of this initiative, arrangements have been made for the installation of fencing and lighting.
