Sh. Feevah Children's Park Project: One year since commencement, only perimeter wall has been completed!

The Shaviyani Feevah Island Council has expressed concern over the prolonged stagnation of a children's park project, noting that all construction work has been halted for a significant period.

Expressing his concern, Feevah Council Vice President Ali Riza stated in an interview with RaajjeTV that the project was initiated by President Muizzu specifically to coincide with the recent local council elections.

However, Ali noted that despite a year having passed since the project's initiation, no progress has been made. He further informed that staff have already been recruited for the facility's operations.

As I recall, this project commenced in September, and 16 employees were recruited for the site. However, this is the extent of the progress made so far; only three walls have been constructed.

Ali stated that work on the project has been stalled for over six months. He further noted that while occasional weeding takes place at the site, no other significant progress has been observed.

Emphasizing that the council does not pose any obstacles to the island's development, Ali stated that their primary objective is to facilitate the necessary environment to ensure the project is completed as swiftly as possible.

The project to develop a children's park in Sh. Feevah was officially inaugurated by President Muizzu during his visit to the island on October 14, 2025. The execution of this project has been contracted to Fenaka Corporation Limited.
