Nasheed: Muizzu pledged not to give away an inch of Maldivian land, yet Ras Male' is being handed to powerful Zionists

Former Nolhivaranfaru MP Mohamed Nasheed Abdulla (Mosta) has criticized the government, stating that despite coming to power on a pledge not to cede even a grain of sand from Maldivian territory, the Ras Male' project is being handed over to some of the world’s most prominent Zionists.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinah" coverage, Nasheed stated that since the Maldives is not a place characterized by bombings, shootings, or killings, Zionists are exploring ways to infiltrate the country. He further alleged that they are attempting to gain a foothold in the Maldives by masquerading as Muslims to involve themselves in the Ras Male' project.

In this regard, Nasheed alleged that Eagle Hills, the company contracted for the Ras Male' project, is funded by Zionists. Highlighting that the Maldives is the world's only 100 percent Sunni Muslim nation, he asserted that the primary objective of Zionist infiltration into the country is to instigate an ideological war and spread corruption.

This is not a place where people have historically been killed through bombings or shootings. Therefore, they are pre-emptively strategizing on how to infiltrate this society. They look for an entry point, and that entry is gained through someone wearing an Islamic cap, a turban, or an Islamic robe. This is the very method Muizzu used to come to power, and it is a principle that Muizzu himself would acknowledge.

Furthermore, Nasheed stated that if Israelis were to settle in Ras Male', they could not be evicted simply by playing religious recitations or Quranic translations in neighboring houses.

Consider this scenario: if a Zionist were to live between Maaz’s house and mine, they would hold triple citizenship, including Maldivian and Israeli status. Since its inception, Israel has established itself as a global nuclear power that remains untouchable; it is a nation where no international or domestic laws apply to its citizens, whether they be UN resolutions or Maldivian legislation. Consequently, even if we were to display Quranic translations next door to their residence, we would be powerless to stop them if they chose to act against us. If they decided to intervene, they would not hesitate to go as far as blowing up our homes to achieve their ends.

Nasheed stated that while President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu initially launched the Ras Male' reclamation project under the guise of providing housing for Maldivians, the land is now being handed over to some of the world's most prominent Zionists. He further noted that these actions contradict President Muizzu’s earlier pledge that not a single grain of Maldivian sand would be given away to foreign parties.

Furthermore, Nasheed stated that if the project is not halted, the Maldives will witness numerous undesirable consequences over the next 20 years.
