President Muizzu establishes new service centers

These integrated centers aim to streamline public access to services provided by national government agencies, ensuring they are more conveniently available to residents in the islands.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has established new service centers designated as "Government Service Centers."
Pursuant to the powers vested in the President under Article 116 (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives, the President established the Government Service Centers on Thursday. These centers have been mandated to function under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology.
The government has established dedicated "Government Service Centers" in every atoll across the country, spanning from Haa Alif in the north to Gaafu Dhaalu in the south. These centers have been officially set up in the administrative capitals of Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, Raa, Baa, Lhaviyani, Kaafu, Alif Alif, Alif Dhaalu, Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu, Thaa, Laamu, Gaafu Alif, and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls.
The President's Office stated that the purpose of establishing government service centers is to facilitate the delivery of services provided by national agencies through integrated service centers within administrative divisions, as stipulated under Section 65(b)(1) of Act No. 7/2010 (Decentralization Act).
In the directive issued by the President's Office regarding the establishment of these centers, the government has specified the official English designations for the "Government Service Centers." The announcement also includes the designated institutional codes to be used for official correspondence and numbering when addressing letters to these centers.
