Ahmed Ghalib, the Male' City Councilor for the South Hulhumale' constituency, has stated that none of the government's boastful actions have yielded positive results, and that the administration continues to further provoke public anger.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Ghalib stated that President Muizzu will not secure a second term in the upcoming presidential election. He asserted that the 2028 presidential election will see a sitting president suffer the heaviest defeat in history, and that the MDP will return to power in 2028 to alleviate the hardships faced by the citizens.
Commenting on the decision to revise the tax regulations for foreign tour operators, Ghalib stated that throughout the remaining two years of this administration, the government will continue to present numerous initiatives to the public with bold rhetoric.
I reflect on this deeply and give it a great deal of thought whenever such decisions are made: whose advice is being followed? Is this the collective input of a team, or is it the suggestion of a single, highly influential individual?Ahmed Ghalib
Highlighting the ongoing shortages of medicine, cooking gas, and other essential supplies, Ghalib stated that it has become clear President Muizzu is a leader who refuses to listen to the people. He noted that after the public delivered a clear message to the administration during the council and referendum elections, he had hoped the subsequent cabinet reshuffle would lead to improvements. However, Ghalib remarked that instead of seeing progress, the situation has only continued to deteriorate.
It has become nearly impossible to place an online order on platforms like Temu these days. With the bank imposing strict limits, one wakes up every morning to a barrage of notifications stating that the daily limit has been reached. There would be no issue if the government’s bold rhetoric and public policies actually yielded benefits for the citizens, but one must ask: which of these actions has produced a positive outcome? Ultimately, not only have they failed to deliver results, but they are further provoking the public's frustration.Ahmed Ghalib
Furthermore, Ghalib noted that if boastful rhetoric alone could achieve results, they would have materialized long ago, pointing out that no actual progress has been made.
