Bandidhoo Council VP: Most Government Projects Have Stalled

Furthermore, he highlighted grievances regarding the current administration's dismissal of Fenaka Corporation employees on the island, stating that the scale of job terminations is unprecedented compared to previous governments.

The Vice President of the Dhaalu Bandidhoo Island Council, Ahmed Easa, has stated that several projects initiated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration on the island have come to a standstill, and the council is receiving no information regarding their status.
Speaking on Saturday’s "Fashaairu" program, the Vice President of the Bandidhoo Island Council, Ahmed Easa, stated that although numerous projects—including land reclamation and the construction of additional school classrooms—were initiated during the election campaign, the only project currently showing progress is the health center building. He further noted that work on the youth center is proceeding at a very slow pace and observed that various areas of the land reclamation site have fallen into a state of dilapidation.
Expressing concern over the lack of progress on various projects, Easa noted that although land has been allocated for the construction of a police station, there have been no updates on the status of the work. He further mentioned hearing reports that tasks such as harbor upgrading and dredging are being managed by a specific government committee. However, he emphasized that none of these activities are being conducted in consultation with the council.
The adjacent land reclamation site has also fallen into a state of neglect, with the black tar coating now completely weathered away. I am uncertain of the previous plans, but I remain hopeful that this administration will address these issues. Easa stated that the council has not obstructed any projects and reaffirmed that the council will provide full cooperation to all government initiatives aimed at the island's development.
Furthermore, Easa addressed the ongoing issue of employee dismissals.
Easa stated that while no previous administration had ever terminated employees from positions in Bandidhoo, the current government has dismissed approximately nine individuals from their roles at Fenaka.
