The assailants reportedly used profanity, assaulted several members of the public, and attempted to damage the crew's camera equipment. The program, which focuses on documenting the living conditions of island residents and highlighting concerns regarding stalled development projects, was disrupted by the violence.

A RaajjeTV crew filming the program "Haalu Kihineh?" in Dhaalu Meedhoo was assaulted by a group of PNC activists, including Abdulla Latheef, the uncle of First Lady Sajidha Mohamed.
RaajjeTV’s "Haalu Kihineh?" program is a dedicated platform that highlights the living conditions of citizens across the Maldives and provides updates on ongoing development projects in various islands. During the program, nearly every citizen interviewed has shared the profound hardships they are currently facing, attributing their struggles to the actions and policies of the current administration.
Furthermore, the councils are sharing details regarding stalled projects in the islands, as well as the grievances and concerns of both the residents and the councils themselves.
RaajjeTV’s production team, led by Broadcast Visual Director Amir Saleem, is currently stationed in Dhaal Atoll Meedhoo to film the final episode of the program.
While filming was underway on Friday evening, Abdulla Latheef—the uncle of First Lady Sajidha Mohamed—accompanied by a group from the PNC, confronted and assaulted the RaajjeTV crew and local residents assisting them. The group reportedly caused a public disturbance by shouting profanities and acting in a disruptive manner to escalate tensions at the scene.
Several individuals on the island sustained various degrees of injury as a result of the altercation. Members of the PNC also attempted to damage camera equipment belonging to RaajjeTV, though they were unsuccessful in their efforts.
