Two people have been injured in a stabbing attack in Male'.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 9:01 p.m. on Saturday night on Shabnam Magu. Two Maldivian men, aged 48 and 33, sustained injuries in the assault after being attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.
The two individuals injured in the incident are currently receiving medical treatment, with one being treated at Senahiya Hospital and the other at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Details regarding the extent of their injuries have not yet been disclosed.
Police have taken a foreign man into custody in connection with the investigation.
Videos of the incident circulating on social media show a large crowd gathered at the scene of the altercation, where police were seen taking a foreign man into custody.
Police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the incident.
