President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for a commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and accountability in the workplace.
Speaking at the official National Day ceremony held in Ha. Utheemu on Saturday, President Muizzu stated that if office heads and staff uphold professional work ethics, it will ensure public satisfaction for those seeking government services and significantly multiply the productivity and results of the administration.
President Muizzu stated that a culture of respect must be instilled across all levels of society, from family life to national responsibilities. He emphasized that true stability, security, and progress—whether infrastructure-related, economic, or social—can only be achieved through mutual respect.
Punctuality, dedication to one's duties, and avoiding the habit of taking frequent sick leave are hallmarks of a professional. If an employee diligently fulfills their assigned responsibilities and remains committed to their work throughout the day, it reflects immensely well on the state and brings great honor to the institution.President Muizzu
The President has called for the strengthening of efforts to instill civilized values, promote moral principles, and foster a renewed commitment to mutual respect among all citizens.
President Muizzu further stated that National Day reflects the true spirit of the Maldivian people: that despite a few who may stray, the vast majority prioritize national interests across all levels of society. He emphasized that the willingness to shed blood and sweat for the sake of the nation is a defining Maldivian characteristic, transcending all social classes and backgrounds.
