The M. Mulah Island Council has expressed deep concern over the lack of progress on the construction of a new police station, which remains stalled more than a year after the foundation stone was laid by the Road Development Corporation (RDC). In addition to the police station, several other development projects contracted to the company have come to a standstill, significantly hindering the community's access to essential services.

The M. Mulah Island Council has expressed concern over the slow progress of the construction of the island's new police station, noting that the project is not moving at an acceptable pace.

The council has noted that although this project is vital for the peace and security of the island, physical works are not progressing at a satisfactory pace.

The Mulah Island Council informed RaajjeTV that the foundation stone for the police station was laid during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's official visit to the island in September last year.

However, the council stated that even after more than a year since the foundation stone was laid, the project has been progressing at a very slow pace.

The government has contracted the Road Development Corporation (RDC) to carry out this project. The council noted that although numerous development projects in Mulah have been awarded to RDC, the majority of these works are currently at a standstill.

The council has stated that this is posing significant challenges to the development of the island.

The suspension of the police station construction and other projects contracted to the Road Development Corporation (RDC) has become a major grievance for the local community. The council stated that these stalled projects are delaying essential services for residents and emphasized the urgent need for a swift resolution to the matter.

The construction of the new police station in Mulah is a key government initiative aimed at strengthening security both on the island and across the wider region. However, the project's completion date remains uncertain as the contracted company has failed to maintain an adequate pace of work.
