Operations Halted at Hanimaadhoo Police Station
The Hanimaadhoo Island Council has expressed deep concern over the complete standstill of a project to construct a four-story police station, which was contracted to the Road Development Corporation (RDC). Despite being scheduled for completion within two years, the council noted that physical work has failed to progress and urged authorities to expedite the project to ensure the safety and security of the island.

Speaking to RaajjeTV, Council Member Ahmed Anaan stated that the project to establish a police station in Hanimaadhoo was awarded in August 2025. However, he noted that the complete suspension of the project's work is a matter of significant concern for the island's residents.
The Maldives Police Service project has been awarded to the Road Development Corporation (RDC). The contract stipulates that the work must be completed within a two-year timeframe. Anaan further noted that RDC is currently executing the project through a third-party contractor.

Although a contract was awarded under this project for the construction of a four-story building in Hanimaadhoo, the local council reports that all work has now come to a complete standstill, with no progress currently being made at the site.
