President Muizzu: PNC rally held during official visit to "kill two birds with one stone"; party will bear the costs

The President emphasized that all arrangements for the gathering, which took place following the conclusion of his official duties, were financed entirely by the People's National Congress (PNC). Furthermore, he urged the public to remain vigilant against misleading narratives and misinformation being circulated by the opposition.

During his official visit to AA. Ukulhas, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that political activities are not funded by the state budget, but are instead conducted at the expense of the People's National Congress (PNC).
The President made these remarks while speaking at a People's National Congress (PNC) rally held in Ukulhas.
President Muizzu stated that his visit to Ukulhas was undertaken upon an official invitation from the Auditor General’s Office. He noted that, in addition to formal meetings, he also reviewed the progress of various government projects currently being implemented on the island.
Speaking regarding the gathering organized by the PNC, the President stated that the event was held after concluding official duties and prior to his departure for Male'. The President further noted that the meeting was organized in fulfillment of a prior commitment to meet with the residents of Ukulhas to celebrate their success in the local council elections.
The President acknowledged that some may criticize him for engaging in political activities during an official visit. However, he clarified that all activities following the conclusion of the official segment are organized by the party. He further noted that any additional expenses incurred for the stay in Ukulhas are also covered by the party. The President described this approach as a way to "kill two birds with one stone."

Furthermore, the President stated that the opposition will always seek to discredit the government by spreading falsehoods. Consequently, the President urged the public to remain vigilant against narratives designed to distort the truth.
