It has been revealed that the construction of the F. Feeali futsal pitch, managed by MTCC, is being carried out using manual tools such as hand hoes, pickaxes, and wheelbarrows.
In a video circulating on social media, a concerned citizen highlighted that despite MTCC vehicles being stationed on the island, workers are still relying on manual tools such as hand hoes and wheelbarrows to carry out the project.
The Feeali futsal pitch project was originally scheduled for inauguration prior to the swearing-in of the new council. However, the opening has been delayed due to unforeseen extensions in the construction timeline.
A local resident stated that despite several deadlines being set for the completion of the project, the work has been significantly delayed because the equipment brought in for the task was subsequently removed from the site.
Furthermore, he expressed concern, stating that every day the project remains unfinished is a setback for the youth of Feeali.
In the recent local council by-elections, the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) secured three seats on the Feeali Island Council and three seats on the Women's Development Committee (WDC). This victory marks the first time in history that the PNC ideology has gained a majority on the island's council.
