New Radiant Sports Club kicked off their Cup Winners' Cup campaign in commanding fashion by defeating Buru Sports Club in their first game.
Playing on Monday afternoon at Galolhu National Stadium, New Radiant sealed an overwhelming 5-0 win. They entered halftime with a single goal before delivering a masterclass in the second period by netting four additional times.
Brazilian attacker Dorielton Gomes Nascimento, known as Dori, opened the scoring within the initial sixty seconds of play to put New Radiant ahead. He carried that hot streak into the second half, slotting home his second goal at the 60-minute mark.
Only three minutes later, Dori sealed an impressive hat-trick to expand the margin even further. Keeping up their relentless pressure, Ali Fasir, more commonly known as Sentey, struck the fourth goal in the 68th minute, before Liberian footballer Abdullah Biliti scored the fifth and final goal for the squad.
After starting strong against Buru, a heavily reinforced New Radiant side heading into this football season turns its focus to Odi Sports Club for their next tournament fixture.
