Chairman of New Radiant Sports Club, Ahmed Mubeen has revealed that the club is making strong moves to reinforce its squad ahead of the upcoming season, confirming that multiple players from the Maldives national team are set to join.
In a statement shared on social media, Mubeen highlighted that the club’s leadership is fully focused on assembling a highly competitive team. At the same time, he made it clear that the club has no plans to recruit forwards from their rivals, Maziya Sports and Recreation.
He also detailed three key principles shaping the club’s recruitment strategy: upholding outstanding sporting discipline, encouraging a united team spirit and gaining the trust and admiration of supporters.
Mubeen further disclosed that around seven to eight current national team players are expected to don the New Radiant jersey in the coming season, stressing that the overarching aim is to build a team that fans can take pride in.
His comments come amid speculation linking the club with a move for Hamza Mohamed, who is preparing to part ways with Maziya. However, Mubeen firmly dismissed such claims, reiterating that the club is not targeting any forwards from Maziya, while additional reports have confirmed that no attempt has been made to sign Hampu.
