Dhiyana Appointed Maldives Ambassador to Belgium and EU

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Monday appointed Uz. Fathimath Dhiyana, of Goranvilla, S. Hulhudhoo, as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu presented the letter of appointment to Uza. Fathimath Dhiyana during a ceremony held at the President's Office on Monday morning.
Uzthaza Fathimath Dhiyana holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania, Australia, a Master of Laws (Law and Political Science) from Osaka University, Japan, and a Master of Laws (International Human Rights Law) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. She has previously held high-ranking positions within the government and state, as well as at the international level. Her distinguished career includes serving as the Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Minister of Gender, Family and Human Rights, and Attorney General of the Maldives. Additionally, she has served as a Member of Parliament and a member of the Special People's Majlis.
