Residents of Kulhudhuffushi City, speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Haalu Kihineh?" program, have expressed deep concerns regarding the significant hardships they currently face in their daily lives. Among the most pressing issues highlighted were the skyrocketing cost of goods, persistent shortages of essential medicines, and the rising burden of electricity bills.
Residents of Kulhudhuffushi City—a community with over 11,000 registered inhabitants and a living population exceeding 13,000—have expressed grave concerns regarding their current situation, describing the city's present state as significantly deteriorated during interviews with RaajjeTV’s "Haalu Kihineh?" program.
An elderly resident who spoke to RaajjeTV described the situation as dire, stating that the hardships faced are beyond words. He noted that while a kilogram of fish was previously priced at around twenty Rufiyaa, the price has now surged past thirty Rufiyaa. He added that, in reality, the living conditions on the island are deteriorating day by day.
"What is there to say about our situation? The price of fish, which was previously 20 Rufiyaa per kilogram, has now risen above 30 Rufiyaa. In reality, the conditions on the island have deteriorated significantly."An elderly individual who spoke with RaajjeTV.
Speaking to RaajjeTV, a woman stated that her primary concerns are the rising cost of living and the shortage of essential medicines.

He noted that due to the unavailability of many essential medicines, they are often forced to source them from Male'. He further highlighted that this is unacceptable given that Kulhudhuffushi holds the status of a city.
