Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has disclosed that 13 million Rufiyaa was spent between October last year and June this year to maintain and clean the area where its housing units are being developed in Hulhumalé Phase II.

This information was revealed in statistics released by the FDC via social media.

According to information released by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), five tons of waste have been cleared from the housing project site over the past nine months alone. The corporation stated that this is part of an ongoing effort to maintain hygiene standards in the area, as waste continues to be illegally dumped in the common spaces of the flats.

Regarding the substantial expenditure required for waste management, FDC stated that the illegal dumping of waste in public areas, in violation of established guidelines, has created significant challenges in maintaining cleanliness. The corporation further noted that this unauthorized disposal of waste has forced them to incur heavy costs from both the FDC budget and the state budget to ensure these areas remain clean.

According to the breakdown of these expenditures, the costs were incurred for waste collection and the general maintenance of common areas within the flat complexes. FDC has urged all residents to adhere to established waste disposal guidelines and to prioritize the cleanliness and upkeep of shared spaces.
