Police have seized the motorcycles of three individuals who were driving recklessly on the Sinamalé Bridge. The authorities took action after the individuals were found to be operating their vehicles in a dangerous manner that posed a threat to public safety and caused alarm.
The police have impounded these three motorcycles for violations of the Land Transport Act and its associated regulations.
Regarding the matter, a police media official stated that three motorcycles operated dangerously on the bridge were taken into police custody on July 25, 2024. Police further informed that these vehicles have been towed for a period of 30 days.
Police have taken action following the widespread circulation of videos on social media showing dangerous motorcycle stunts on the Sinamalé Bridge. The footage depicts individuals lying flat on their motorcycles while traveling at high speeds across the bridge.
Furthermore, the footage shows motorcycles being driven well above the bridge's designated speed limit, in a reckless manner that causes significant public alarm.
