The police have formally requested Maldives Immigration to facilitate their deportation. It is noted that the court had previously remanded the suspects in custody for a period of two days.

Police have announced that they have requested the deportation of two Egyptian nationals arrested in connection with a violent altercation in K. Himmafushi, with a permanent ban on their re-entry to the Maldives.
Police reported on Wednesday that they received a report of a violent altercation involving a group of individuals in Himmafushi at approximately 19:24 on the night of July 19, 2026.
Two Egyptian men have been taken into police custody in connection with the case. Upon being produced before the court for a remand hearing, they were ordered to be detained for a period of two days.
Furthermore, police stated that based on investigative findings, they have requested Maldives Immigration to deport the suspects and impose a permanent re-entry ban against them.
The police stated that they have conducted interviews with the relevant individuals and investigated all necessary aspects of this case.
