The Maldives Police Service has reported a new act of vandalism at the Masjid al-Aziza Mosque in Hulhumalé, where a glass window was shattered.
In a message sent to the media on Wednesday night, police stated that the individual suspected of vandalizing the Aziza Mosque early Monday morning is also accused of causing further damage to the same mosque on Wednesday night.
Police stated that no injuries were reported in the incident and confirmed that the matter is being investigated as a separate case.
Furthermore, police confirmed that through collaborative efforts with relevant institutions, the suspect has been removed from the community. The statement also noted that relevant authorities are currently working to provide the individual with the necessary assistance.
Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway into an incident involving damage caused to a mosque during the early hours of Monday.
